Frankfurts und Hong Kongs Hochhäuser im fiktiven Hongfurt
Mit Hong Kong, an der subtropischen Südküste Chinas gelegen, bezeichnet man genau
genommen keine Stadt, sondern das Gebiet der ehemaligen britischen
Kronkolonie. Dieses umfasst die Halbinsel New Territories und die Insel Hong
Kong Island sowie weitere deutlich kleinere Inseln. In der ehemaligen Kolonie liegen
mehrere Großstädte, darunter die Millionenstadt Kowloon (chines. Jiulong),
New Kowloon (Xin Jiulong) und Tsuen Wan (Quan Wan) in
den New Territories und Victoria (Xianggang) auf Hong Kong Island. Der
Großteil der höheren Bürogebäude steht in Victoria. In geografischer Sicht ist es
jedoch durchaus sinnvoll, von einer Stadt zu sprechen. Das gesamte bebaute Gebiet
ist im übrigen nicht größer als etwa das von Frankfurt oder Düsseldorf, wobei in Hong
Kong die Bebauung überwiegend von Hochhäusern gebildet wird. Die Bevölkerungsdichte ist
somit nach mitteleuropäischen Maßstäben exorbitant hoch.
In Städten wie Hong Kong oder Shanghai werden beinahe wöchentlich
standardisierte Wohnblöcke, meist in Randlagen, bis zu Höhen von 130m in industrieller
Manier hochgezogen.
In Frankfurt bräuchte es übrigens 56 Häuser mit Höhen um die 200m (z.B. den Main Tower) bzw. eine Verneunfachung, um mit Hong
Kong gleichzuziehen.
Hong Kong, situated at the subtropical south coast of China, strictly is
not a city, but in fact the area of a former British colony. This covers the peninsula New
Territories and the Hong Kong Island as well as further smaller islands. In
this area there are several large cities, some of it with millions of inhabitants: Kowloon
(Chinese Jiulong), New Kowloon (Xin Jiulong) and Tsuen Wan
(Quan Wan) at the New Territories and Victoria (Xianggang) on
Hong Kong Island. Most of the higher buildings are located in Victoria. However, in
geographical view it is quite meaningful to speak from one city to. The entire
cultivated area in all other respects is not larger than about from Frankfurt, Amsterdam
or Stockholm, whereby in Hong Kong the total build up area is predominantly formed by very
high multistoried buildings. Therefore the population density is exorbitantly high. In
cities such as Hong Kong or Shanghai almost weekly standardized blocks of flats, in
peripheral locations, are pulled up in industrial manners to heights of 130m and more. In
Frankfurt there were a need to 56 houses with heights around 200 meters (e.g. Main Tower), which means the skyline 9 times multiplied,
to draw even with Hong Kong.
